Vacancy Details

KMRL is inviting applications for two distinct roles (with various grades and employment types). All positions have a total of one vacancy each.

  • General Manager (Signalling & Telecom) / Chief Engineer (Signalling & Telecom): One post. This can be filled on a Regular basis, Deputation, or Re-employment basis. The Deputation term is for three years, extendable further. The Re-employment term is initially for two years, extendable up to the age of 65 or a maximum of 5 years.
  • Junior Engineer - Track (S1) OR Assistant Section Engineer - Track (S2): One post. This appointment will be on a contract basis for an initial period of three years, extendable for a further two years based on satisfactory performance.

Eligibility Criteria (as on September 1, 2025)

The age, qualification, and experience for all posts will be calculated based on the cutoff date of September 1, 2025.

  • JE/ASE (Track): B.Tech/B.E or a Three Year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
Experience
  • GM/CE (Signalling & Telecom): Minimum 20 years of post-qualification experience, out of which a minimum of 12 years should be in an executive/managerial cadre in Railway, its subsidiary/sister concerns/Rail PSUs, and/or Metro Rail Corporations. The candidate should have varied experience in Signalling & Telecom department.
  • Junior Engineer (Track): Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in track installation, quality, inspection of components, and knowledge of curve geometry and turnout installation in Metro/Railway/Railway Associated Industry.
  • Assistant Section Engineer (Track): Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in track installation, quality, inspection of components, and knowledge of curve geometry and turnout installation in Metro/Railway/Railway Associated Industry. Candidates with experience in installing ballastless track (BLT) will be preferred for the JE/ASE posts.

Selection Process

  • General Manager (Regular): Pay Scale of Rs. 120000-280000 (IDA Pattern).
  • General Manager (Deputation): Salary will be as per the standard deputation terms & conditions.
  • Chief Engineer (Re-employment): Consolidated pay of Rs. 1,70,000/- per month. Re-employed personnel will also be eligible for reimbursements applicable to their equivalent grade as per KMRL rules.
  • Junior Engineer - Track (S1): Pay Scale of Rs 33750-94400 (IDA).
  • Assistant Section Engineer - Track (S2): Pay Scale of Rs. 35000-99700 (IDA).

Candidates selected for contract posts (JE/ASE) will receive all benefits as per KMRL's policy for contract employment.
